A family’s dream wedding anniversary trip to Wrexham turned into a nightmare after arriving at a hotel that’s nothing like the pictures! 🚫📸 Mrs. Grainge, a nurse from Stockton-on-Tees, and her family drove 160 miles only to be disappointed by overgrown lawns and crumbling walls. Despite the shabby exterior, they hoped the inside was better—but it only got worse. 😬

The interior matched the exterior with stained carpets, missing blinds, and no tea or coffee. Even the restaurant and spa were padlocked shut. To top it all off, they were hit with a £15 parking fee they later found out was supposed to be free. 😱 Luckily, the linen and bathroom were clean, but it was hardly the romantic getaway they envisioned.

This Grade II-listed hotel, taken over by OYO Rooms, has been getting slammed with complaints about its “haunted house” vibe and “DIY SOS” makeover fails. 🏚️ Despite claims that renovations would fix it all, guests are still not impressed with “overflowing bins” and “shabby” rooms including one guest reportedly sleeping in her car due to a lack of hot water! 🚗
Amidst all of this, some guests do mention “helpful” staff and “modern” rooms, so perhaps there’s hope as the hotel undergoes changes. 🛠️ But for the Grainge family, the anniversary stay left much to be desired. Here’s hoping they find some resolution with a refund on its way. ✨
