Dog walkers in Cardiff are scratching their heads after the removal of a poo-filled bin in Hailey Park, leaving nowhere to dispose of dog waste. 🐶💩 The spot where the bin once stood is now becoming a makeshift dumping ground. Lee Mason, who regularly walks multiple dogs, finds himself in a bit of a bind. “It’s disheartening when there’s nowhere to put the bags,” he explained. “I see overflowings too often and it’s not pleasant!”

With the park buzzing due to the Easter holidays, Lee and others believe more bins and frequent collections are the answer. “It’s like playing roulette, hoping for an available bin,” he said, pointing out that the bin situation has become a real headache for dog walkers who want to do the right thing. “Everyone is picking up after their pets, but what do you do when there’s no proper place to dispose of it?”

The council has repositioned bins for better access without cutting back on the number of bins, aiming for improved collection efficiency and park protection. Meanwhile, a new seven-day collection service is in place to keep the park clean and inviting for all visitors. 🛒🌿
