Terrence Hulme, labelled as a “monster” by his victims, passed away just months into his 18-year sentence for horrific crimes against young girls. The 88-year-old, who was housed at HMP Parc, succumbed to central nervous system lymphoma, a rare cancer, and ischaemic heart disease in September 2024. These illnesses abruptly ended his stretch for numerous indecent assaults dating back to the 1950s, 60s, and 70s.

Hulme’s grim legacy includes rapes and assaults on children, with one victim recounting the terror of his threats and violence that kept her silent into her teens. In a courtroom filled with years of suppressed pain, another victim expressed her fear of disbelief which had kept her quiet for decades.
The court’s stern stance reflected the severity of Hulme’s crimes. Judge Daniel Williams emphasised the lack of mercy in sentencing, citing Hulme’s campaign of rape and routine use of violence. The despicable acts left indelible scars on the lives of his victims, who bravely shared their stories despite years of trauma.

Healthcare Inspectorate Wales reviewed Hulme’s medical care in custody, finding it on par with community standards. Despite his access to necessary health services, his life ended before serving much of his sentence.
Justice caught up with him late in life, but it offered his victims a chance to voice their suffering and begin healing. Hulme’s death closes a disturbing chapter while highlighting the resilience of those he harmed. #JusticeServed #EndViolenceAgainstWomen #StrengthInSurvival
