A couple from Port Talbot found themselves in hot water after they were taken to court over a horrible mess piling up outside their home. Brian and Gemma Morgan didn’t manage to clear up the chaos on their doorstep, including plastic boxes and broken plasterboard, and the authorities weren’t having it!

Despite several warnings and a fixed penalty notice from Neath Port Talbot council officers, the duo ignored the demands to clean up, which eventually led them to face the music at Swansea Magistrates’ Court. They didn’t show up, but each ended up with a £660 fine, plus additional costs and a surcharge.

But that’s not all! Over in the picturesque Dulais Valley, a separate fly-tipping scandal was uncovered. Two miles of the beauty spot were turned into a dumping ground, littered with vehicle parts and household waste. Roger Townsend admitted to tipping the waste and was also fined heavily.

These successful prosecutions serve as a strong reminder: improper waste disposal won’t go unnoticed, or unpunished! We all love our green spaces, so let’s keep them tidy and show some love to Mother Nature. 🌿💚
