Their £100k renovation budget? Already gone! 🏗️ The pair have poured heart and soul into the project, tackling everything from rewiring to plumbing, and even lived in a caravan for the initial months. Despite the challenges, including grappling with local customs and a limited grasp of French, they’ve crafted cozy spaces and are just months away from a full kitchen.
Nathan continues teaching English, funding their new life, while Ben embraces each building task head-on. Despite money woes and budget overruns, they couldn’t be happier. From art classes to rustic renovations, their French life is an adventure they wouldn’t trade for anything! 🎨✨
“Living here is about escaping the chaotic grind and enjoying life’s little pleasures,” they say. Though not without its tests – especially post-Brexit admin and rural living hurdles – the journey is deeply rewarding.
They admit more funds will be needed to continue their renovation dreams, but with a spirit of resilience (and some good old-fashioned DIY), this couple is making their rustic haven a reality. 🌾💪
