A tragic night in Wrexham has been the centrepiece of a courtroom drama. Paul Ince, 31, is standing trial accused of the manslaughter of John Ithell, 59, after a night that turned deadly on June 12, 2023. Ithell, allegedly misled to the wrong flat while attempting to buy drugs, was hit with a fatal punch from Ince, who denies the charge.

Eyewitness Rebecca Baldini recounted the chilling moment of impact – a sound she described as a “clack” that she can still vividly recall. Ithell was said to have hit a fence and walked away, only to tragically pass away hours later at the hospital. Security personnel and cyclists were among those who encountered Ithell during his final hours, describing him as confused and injured.

The court heard that Ince, after allegedly landing the devastating punch, searched online for details about manslaughter charges. Prosecutors argue this is a clear indication of his awareness of the situation, but Ince claims he only “pushed” the victim. Meanwhile, Carl Brown, who was initially arrested, exchanged messages with Ince, indicating the gravity of the situation they found themselves in.
Stay tuned as this trial unfolds, shedding light on a dark moment defined by one tragic decision.
