⚽ Drama at the World Cup Final! 🌍
Things got lively during the World Cup final in Newark, New Jersey! US President Donald Trump was booed by fans as he made his way onto the pitch alongside FIFA president Gianni Infantino. They were there to hand Spain the trophy after their thrilling 1-0 victory over Argentina, thanks to Ferran Torres’ extra-time goal. The match had already seen its share of excitement with Argentina down to 10 men after Enzo Fernandez was sent off in the 93rd minute.
Despite the chilly reception, Trump joined the celebrations, shaking hands and even raising his fists in triumph. However, he seemed to overstay his welcome on the podium as Infantino tried to usher him away from the jubilant Spanish team.
Earlier in the tournament, Infantino had dismissed claims of influencing a decision regarding US player Folarin Balogun’s suspension. Trump praised FIFA’s later decision to defer Balogun’s ban, thanking them for reversing what he called “a great injustice.”
