Nigel Farage hit the streets of Merthyr Tydfil, sparking a mix of cheers and jeers as he campaigned in the run-up to the upcoming Senedd election. Sporting his signature style, Farage was met with both support and criticism during his visit.

Upon his arrival, the once-quiet streets buzzed with activity. While shop-owner Penny Fisher enthusiastically declared her support, praising Farage’s backing for small businesses, not everyone was as welcoming. Ash from Aberdare shouted “racist” from a barber shop, highlighting the divide in opinions on the controversial politician.
Farage visited local businesses, posed for selfies, and even picked up some baby potatoes from a greengrocer! Some locals expressed hope that his Reform party would lighten their tax burdens and offer relief to small businesses. Penny Fisher is so convinced by Farage’s approach that she’s switching her vote from Conservative to Reform!

Yet, not everyone’s on board. Ellie and Ella, both 18, criticised Farage’s stance on immigration and questioned the impact Reform could have in a devolved Wales. With Plaid Cymru and Reform leading recent polls, the competition’s heating up. Farage confidently stated, “We’re in it to win it,” making it clear he’s got his eyes set on success.
With the election just three weeks away, it’s all to play for! How do you feel about Farage and Reform’s chances in Wales?
