It all kicked off when the car’s owner had gone to take out her recycling and noticed her car missing at around 8.40pm on January 13. The duo took over, with Bray initially behind the wheel, before Howells brought his own brand of chaos.

The stunt-filled chase was tracked from above by a police helicopter, spotting the car speeding with its lights off and zipping on the wrong side of the road. Things got even more dangerous over Brynmawr and Upper Cwmbran, with Howells overtaking a grit lorry in a heart-in-mouth manoeuvre, only to crash into a wall! 🚧

After fleeing the scene, both were quickly caught by police around 10.16pm. Bray ended up in hospital with a hefty gash, while the car owner was left shaken, fearing the thought of work due to the shocking ordeal.

Howells admitted to multiple charges – from dangerous driving to breach of a suspended sentence for burglary. With a rap sheet boasting 15 past offences, the judge hit him with a 26-month jail sentence and a driving ban. 😳

In court, a heartfelt moment saw Howells’ barrister explain his struggles with addiction and family issues, painting a picture of a man who’d lost his way but didn’t lack remorse. The judge’s words were stern yet reflective, highlighting the pain caused to innocent people.

This wild ride could have ended in far worse tragedy. Let’s hope Steven can turn things around for good! 🌟
