Kyle Dixon, a 25-year-old from Newport, found himself on the wrong side of the law after boasting about his ability to make drug deliveries “anywhere.” Dixon was sending mass texts to 80 contacts, advertising his supply of cocaine. His illicit entrepreneurial spirit landed him in hot water, and the law finally caught up with him.

Newport Crown Court heard how Dixon had been orchestrating a highly organised drug distribution network across Newport. Police uncovered a treasure trove of drug paraphernalia at his home, including £6,000 worth of cocaine, cannabis, and weighing scales. His phone, a central tool in his operation, revealed the extent of his dealings.

Caught red-handed, Dixon faced court, admitting to possessing cocaine with intent to supply and other charges. His legal troubles were compounded by a breach of a previous suspended sentence for driving offences.

Despite his attorney’s plea for leniency due to his deteriorated mental health and financial woes, the court did not hold back. Recorder Mark Powell KC remarked on the professional nature of Dixon’s operation, sentencing him to three years in prison.

Dixon will serve half his sentence in custody before potentially being released on licence. It’s a stark reminder of the consequences awaiting those who dabble in the dangerous world of Class A drugs.
