A beloved Welsh haulage firm, Sunhill Transport Ltd, is reportedly preparing to enter administration after over 50 years on the road. Established in 1972 and operated by the founding family’s third generation, the Deeside-based company has long been a staple in the industry. Known for a trusty fleet of about 30 vehicles, it has employed dedicated staff for decades. Sadly, reports have surfaced about job cuts, with one former employee revealing their partner’s redundancy after 30 years with the company.

The online community has been quick to show support. One user shared: “Very sad news, such a well-run family business. It’s tough times.” An encouraging wave of solidarity is also emerging, with local companies offering potential positions to affected drivers and office staff. Another commented, “Hope everyone gets sorted. A great company to do business with. Thoughts with the owners. The UK government needs to step up.”

It’s heartening to see the community rally around those impacted. Let’s hope for the best for employees and the family owners during this challenging time.
