🚨 Attention, Parents! Don’t Miss Out on Child Benefit 🚨

Heads up, parents! HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) is rolling out a massive letter campaign, set to reach around 1.5 million homes. If you’re a parent, keep an eye on your letterbox – this could be crucial for your finances! 📬
Child Benefit, which offers at least £1,406.60 annually plus National Insurance credits, could be at risk if you don’t act. While payments automatically stop when your child turns 16, they might still be eligible for up to four more years if they meet certain criteria. But you must update HMRC by 31st August to continue receiving it.

These letters, starting to hit doormats from 8th May, will guide you to a QR code linking to a portal for extending your claim. However, if your child’s education plans are set for the next year, you don’t have to wait for the letter. Head over to the Gov.uk website and sort it online! 💻

To qualify for an extension, your child should not receive Universal Credit and must be enrolled in full-time approved education or training. Accepted courses include A levels, T levels, Scottish Highers, Foundation Apprenticeships, and more. Not sure if your course counts? Check the complete list on Gov.uk.
Remember, if your child leaves approved education or training, you must inform HMRC right away to avoid overpayments. Under certain circumstances, you might receive support for another 20 weeks.
Stay informed and make sure you secure the benefits you deserve! Share this with fellow parents and help spread the word! 💬👪 #ChildBenefit #HMRC #ParentsAlert
