π Car Chaos at Goldcliff π

It seems like there’s something fishy going on with cars constantly taking a nosedive into the watery ditches of Goldcliff, near Newport! Residents are crying out for solutions after a string of skidding incidents, the latest one making a splash on 12th March.
Locals claim the road’s a mess with unclear markings and potholes galore, making it a nightmare for drivers. While speed might not have been a factor in the latest incident, some young motorists have been accused of treating the narrow, slippery lanes like their personal racetrack. Grant Richard Laidlaw from Gwent Recovery Towing Service has had to pull out cars from these ditches multiple times, urging everyone to be cautious.

There’s no pavement, tricky corners, and the roads could use better lighting and signsβat least, that’s what concerned resident Lauren Eleanor Harrhy suggests. She’s keeping her kids off these roads and is worried about her eldest, who’s almost ready to hit the road with her driving licence! What makes this more worrying is that the area serves as a habitat for rare wildlife, so adding barriers might not be the best idea. π
Is it just the tricky roads, or should we be pointing fingers at the drivers too? Newport Council plans to sort the road out with a Β£6.6m programme already underway. What do you think? Share your thoughts on how these lanes can be made safer!
Stay safe, Goldcliff! πΏππ¦
