🏉 What a thrilling triumph for Wales! Our boys finally broke the dry spell with a 31-17 victory over Italy at the Principality Stadium, marking their first Six Nations win since March 2023. 🌟
The match was electrifying, showcasing the emergence of new Welsh stars and the courage of our seasoned players. Aaron Wainwright was the standout, scoring two tries and proving to be the backbone of the team. Dewi Lake and Dan Edwards also crossed the line, with Edwards contributing an impressive 11 points from the boot, including a dazzling 40-metre drop goal! 🎯
Louis Rees-Zammit delivered a solid performance at full-back, while Ellis Mee’s high-ball skill and defensive strength were pivotal. Eddie James and Joe Hawkins formed a formidable centre partnership, combining robust defence with incisive attack. Dan Edwards controlled the game with precision, showcasing his flair and speed. Meanwhile, Tomos Williams kept the Italian defence on their toes and pulled off a try-saving tackle.
In the forwards, our pack was relentless. James Botham and Alex Mann put in monumental shifts in defence, while Ben Carter’s lineout management and Dafydd Jenkins’ consistency at the breakdown shone through. The front row was on fire, with Tomas Francis scrumming tirelessly and Rhys Carre notching up crucial carries and scrums. And of course, captain Dewi Lake’s leadership was simply inspirational!
This victory re-affirms Wales’ place in the Six Nations, with both emerging talent and experienced players stepping up when it mattered most. Exciting times ahead for Welsh rugby fans as we cheer on our revitalised team! 🏆 #WalesRugby #SixNations #WelshPride
