🎾 Emma Raducanu Shares Her Take on Tennis Longevity & Praises Serena Williams 🎾

Emma Raducanu has opened up about her views on playing tennis into her later years, inspired by Serena Williams’ unexpected return at 44. The 23-time Grand Slam champ is making her much-anticipated comeback on British courts next week, partnering with Victoria Mboko at the Queens event in London.

Unlike Serena, Raducanu doesn’t see herself competing in her forties. She candidly expressed, “I personally don’t. But many players change their minds as they get older. With advancements in sports science, it’s incredible what can be achieved now.”
The young star hasn’t yet had a heart-to-heart with Serena, but hopes to gain wisdom from the tennis legend. “I haven’t spoken to her, but I’d love to. She has immense experience and lessons to share,” Raducanu remarked with a hopeful curiosity.
Reminiscing about their previous match in Cincinnati four years ago, Raducanu fondly recalled her victory against Serena just before the American star took her hiatus. “Playing her during her announced retirement tour was nerve-wracking, but seeing her back is immensely inspiring,” Raducanu shared.
Raducanu, though recently challenged by illness and a tough clay season, remains optimistic. After her defeat at the French Open, she’s been diligently preparing for the grass season. “It’s been about returning to basics: serving and returning,” she stated, highlighting her back-to-basics training approach.
As the tennis world buzzes with Serena’s return, fans eagerly await to see how Raducanu’s refined game unfolds on the lush grass courts. 🌱🎾
