🚨 Energy Alert this Winter! 🚨

Get ready, folks! This winter might bring a few “tight days” for the UK’s energy supply. The National Energy System Operator (Neso) has revealed that, while we’ve got the best electricity margins for years, we still need to stay vigilant. With Europe’s power on standby to lend a hand, we’ll be well-equipped to keep the lights on.

Neso assures us that, although some challenges may arise, early preps with the energy industry mean we’re on it. System notices, the alerts that help boost production when needed, could pop up in early December and mid-January.

Deborah Petterson from Neso said, “Reliable energy is crucial, and this winter, we continue to stand strong.” Meanwhile, National Gas reports that while demand is a tad lower this year, peak days are still in sight—yet they’re confident in meeting our energy needs. The twist? We’ve lost a chunk of our gas storage with Rough storage site no longer in action, upping our reliance on LNG imports.
National Gas boss Glenn Bryn-Jacobsen shared, “We’re prepared to face winter head-on. The energy world is changing, but with teamwork across the board, we’re safeguarding our energy future.”
So, stay warm and plugged in! Updates to follow as we coast through the chillier months. 🌬️❄️💡
