England’s World Cup journey took an unexpected twist after facing a dramatic semi-final exit at the hands of Argentina. With dreams of a first final since 1966 hanging by a thread, Anthony Gordon’s goal had the Three Lions within reach. But heartbreak struck late as Enzo Fernandez fired a stunning equaliser, and Lautaro Martinez sealed England’s fate with a stoppage-time header, ending hopes of glory this year.
However, it’s not all over for the Three Lions. Instead of packing their bags, they’ll face France in the third-place play-off, dubbed the ‘Bronze Final’. Scheduled for 18th July at Miami’s 65,000-capacity Hard Rock Stadium, this clash promises to be more than just a consolation match.
Both teams find themselves regrouping after close semi-final defeats, with France having fallen 2-0 against Spain. With kick-off set for 10pm, fans are geared up for an exciting duel to see who claims third place.
While England’s quest for major silverware continues, fans can still rally behind them in this penultimate game of the tournament. Meanwhile, Argentina prepares for the final showdown against Spain on 19th July, aiming to defend their title.
