🚨 Mystery on the River Wye! 🚣♂️ An empty Canadian canoe was spotted drifting near the Boat Inn in Chepstow, sparking an urgent search for its owner. The Coastguard received reports at 6:15pm on Tuesday, May 26, and are treating this as a “time-critical incident.” 🚨
Despite no signs that it’s a hire from local companies, Paddle Cymru is reaching out to the paddling community for any leads. They’ve shared images on social media, highlighting that the canoe lacks commercial markings, ruling out some rental scenarios.
HM Coastguard is urging anyone who might recognise the canoe or have any information to step forward. If you can help solve this mystery or are the owner, contact Milford Haven Rescue Coordination Centre on 01646 690909.
Let’s keep our community safe and help reunite this canoe with its owner. Spread the word! 📣
