⚠️ Trigger Warning: Domestic Violence ⚠️

In a shocking Christmas Day incident, Mark Green, previously convicted of manslaughter, launched a horrifying assault on his former wife. Despite offering him a place to stay during the holidays, Green repaid her kindness with violence, attacking her in a drug-fuelled rage.

The court heard that after consuming cocaine and cannabis, Green became hostile, eventually choking the woman to the point she couldn’t breathe, while taunting her with chilling words. He bit her on the face and finger, and she narrowly escaped to a neighbour’s house for help. Despite her escape, Green continued his threatening behaviour, following her and making menacing threats.

When police arrived, they found Green back at her house, claiming he was the actual victim. The court later revealed Green’s past conviction in Ireland for manslaughter and detailed prior instances of assault on the same victim.
Sentenced to three years in prison, Green’s case highlights the enduring cycle of domestic violence and the struggles faced by victims. His lawyer noted that he plans to enter rehab for PTSD and substance misuse upon release.
