🚨 High-Speed Chase Drama 🚨

A former soldier, struggling with a PTSD episode, led police on a thrilling high-speed pursuit across Wiltshire. Jason Maddocks, 36, was at the wheel, reportedly on a drug-fuelled joyride which reached speeds over 100mph. The chase included reckless driving along the hard shoulder of the M4, weaving through traffic, and a wild dash through a motorway service station.

The pursuit, which covered various rural roads and motorway stretches, ended dramatically when Maddocks drove into Hullavington airfield, taking the chase off-road. He eventually abandoned the car, leaving behind a vulnerable missing woman, and tried to flee on foot before surrendering to police as a helicopter hovered above.

Upon searching his vehicle, officers found cocaine inside. Tests later showed Maddocks had high levels of cocaine in his system. With a history of criminal behaviour including multiple driving offenses and drug possession, he returned to Swansea Crown Court.
The judge, noting his “absolute disregard” for public safety, sentenced Maddocks to 14 months in prison, handing him an extended driving ban.
Wiltshire Police’s PC Nick Slade expressed relief at the verdict, highlighting the danger Maddocks posed. He was relieved no one was seriously injured during the chase, especially on the narrow village roads and busy motorways.
Let’s hope this serves as a wake-up call for safer, more responsible driving. 🙏 Stay safe out there, folks! 🚗💨
