🚨 Political Drama Alert! 🚨

Owain Clatworthy, a former Reform Senedd candidate, just dropped some serious tea about his party! 🍵 After quitting Reform UK this week, Clatworthy unleashed a fiery critique of the party, slamming their leadership in Wales as being in “turmoil.” 😮
The Bridgend councillor didn’t hold back, citing issues like “poor internal decision making” and claiming the party leadership under Dan Thomas treats their county councillors “like dirt.” He felt they were out of touch with the voters’ real concerns. 💬

Clatworthy also revealed that his decision to resign wasn’t about his position on the candidate list. Initially asked to run in unfamiliar areas, he said yes to Bridgend, his actual constituency, only to discover it was all part of a disorganised pattern. “No one in Reform cares about local reputations or constituents,” he stated.
He described the party atmosphere as one where individuals are more concerned with titles and money, going so far as to report each other to climb higher on the candidates’ list! 😲 Clatworthy didn’t name names, but he mentioned that some candidates are downright “careerists.”
Having grown up in care, Clatworthy was drawn to politics by a desire to help others, combined with his Christian faith. 🙏 “What I’ve seen of Reform in the last nine months is all talk, with the wrong motives from the wrong people.” 😤
With the Senedd election just around the corner, he’s not the only one jumping ship! Two other Reform candidates also quit recently, citing reasons from betrayal of early members to prioritising former Conservative politicians.
Clatworthy is now standing tall as an independent, ready to focus on what really matters – the residents and their concerns. 💪 “I can hold my head high. My constituents care about real issues like the cost-of-living and potholes, not political bickering.”
