Bargoed, currently sitting in fifth place, is aiming high for next season, and Rees’ arrival is a big boost. Club chairman Neil Carter said, “We have a great coaching team in place, and having Matthew on board will add significant value with his experience.” 🙌

Rees boasts a remarkable rugby résumé: nine years and 180 matches with Llanelli, 60 appearances for Wales, and captaining his nation. Not to forget, that iconic all-Welsh front row outing for the Lions in 2009! 💪

His journey hasn’t been without challenges. Named Wales captain in 2010, a neck injury sidelined him for the 2011 World Cup. In 2013, he overcame testicular cancer and returned to earn two more caps in 2014, becoming Wales’ most-capped hooker at the time.

Wishing Matthew and Bargoed the best in their upcoming season! Here’s to great talent and teamwork pushing Welsh rugby forward! 🏆
