A peek into the details: Phase one, brilliantly handled by Wates Residential, is already rolling out 126 new flats tailored for older residents – a perfect replacement for the existing high-rises. Block B is soon to wrap up, with Block A set to finish by the end of 2027.

What’s more? Out of the 228 homes, 189 are designated as affordable homes for council tenants, with 39 available for private buyers. Keep an eye out for 75 homes reserved for current Channel View residents, ensuring they can stay rooted in their beloved community.

All flats will boast private balconies or patios, with handy lifts in each block over three storeys. And let’s not forget the green infrastructure and community spaces woven into this visionary project.

Cllr Lynda Thorne shares her excitement, noting how phase one is shaping up beautifully: “This redevelopment is not just about homes; it’s about setting a new standard for community regeneration. With the next phases, we aim to deliver more energy-efficient homes and enhanced public spaces, ensuring long-term benefits for everyone.”
