🍦 Exciting news for Barry Island! This weekend, a brand new ice cream parlour and coffee shop is opening right on the beachfront in the iconic old lifeguard station. Fablas, the popular Welsh ice cream brand, is bringing the sweet treats you love to this sought-after location.
This marks Fablas’ fifth branch, adding to their other spots in Cowbridge, Penarth, Caerphilly, and Porthcawl. Despite being a month behind schedule, the team has been hard at work since February to ensure everything is, well, just fablas for the opening! 🎉
The doors open at 10:30 am on Saturday, May 2nd, serving up delicious ice creams, coffees, and sweet treats like pancakes, knickerbocker glories, sundaes, and waffles—perfect for enjoying with a seaside view. 🌊
Previously, Bay 5 Coffee was a beloved fixture at this spot for 10 years before its closure last September. Despite a 3,000-signature petition urging the council to reconsider lease decisions, Fablas was eventually given the opportunity to take over after other bids fell through.
