Exciting Plans Underway for a Potential Seaside Attraction Catering to Kids in a Charming Welsh Town

Exciting news for families in the Vale of Glamorgan! A brand new children’s role play centre might be opening soon in the charming seaside town of Barry. If the council gives the nod, this innovative centre will transform a building in Windmill Parc into a vibrant space where children aged 0 to 11 can learn through play.

Operated by The Roll Up Ltd, the centre will be similar to their successful location in Pontyclun, offering themed role play areas that support kids’ social and personal development. Imagine little ones immersing themselves in real-life scenarios, practicing skills, and boosting their confidence and independence—all while having a blast!

While the centre focuses on the children, parents won’t miss out either—there’s an on-site café catering to visitors wanting to grab a cuppa while their kids explore. Proposed opening hours are 9:30am-6pm, Monday to Saturday, and 9:30am-4:30pm on Sundays.

Currently, the site includes eleven parking spaces, and there are plans to enhance safety with a pedestrian walkway connecting parking areas to the centre’s entrance.

If approved, this will be the first facility of its type in the Vale, despite other play areas in South Wales. The nearby location ensures a quiet environment with any outdoor noise likely hushed by the joyful sounds of kids at play. A decision on this exciting proposal is expected in August. Stay tuned for updates!
