Exciting times for Swansea City as they’re set to welcome Ben Stevens as the new sporting director! 🎉 Stevens, currently with Crystal Palace, is expected to bring his expertise to the Swans by the end of the week. With a strong background in performance analysis and recruitment, including successful stints at Newcastle United and Palace, he’s well-equipped to take the Swans to new heights.
During his time at Crystal Palace, Stevens helped the team achieve incredible milestones, including an FA Cup win, Community Shield victory, and a UEFA Conference League title. Now, he’s on a new mission in Swansea, filling the role left vacant since May.
The club has been on an extensive search for the right candidate, considering football brains like former Everton and Manchester United chief Steve Brown and Swansea legend Michu. However, Stevens emerged as the top choice after a careful selection process, with chief scout Jay Lefevre leading the interim recruitment efforts.
The wait is almost over as the club wrapped up negotiations following Palace’s impressive European campaign. Though the exact details of Stevens’ new role are yet to be outlined, his arrival is undoubtedly a massive boost for the Swans as they gear up for an important summer ahead.
