Tragedy struck at a high school ice hockey match in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, when gunfire erupted, leaving a community in shock. 56-year-old Robert Dorgan, also known by the alias Roberta Esposito, has been identified as the shooter responsible for the horrific incident.

The grim events unfolded on the afternoon of 16th February, as Dorgan opened fire during the match, resulting in two fatalities and leaving three others in critical condition. The chaos was captured in a livestream, showing players and spectators diving to the floor for cover amidst the frightening sound of gunshots. In a frantic bid for safety, players scrambled out of the box, leapt over the rink’s barrier, and raced towards the changing room.

Authorities suggest the shooting may have stemmed from a family dispute. Heartbreakingly, it’s alleged that Dorgan’s own wife and children were among the victims, including a little girl. Dorgan reportedly died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound and was known as the father of a senior at North Providence High School.

Our hearts go out to the victims and their families during this incredibly difficult time. The Pawtucket community faces a long road to healing as they come to terms with this unimaginable tragedy.
