πΏπ¦ Calling all garden lovers! It’s nesting season, and the RSPB has a fresh take on bird feeding that’s both fascinating and crucial. We’re all about those gorgeous garden visitors, right? Well, it’s time to give them the best care possible!

π« Say NO to seeds and peanuts during this period! π€ Why, you ask? It turns out, these common bird treats can actually spread a nasty disease called trichomonosis. This illness can wreak havoc on our feathered friends, especially greenfinches, chaffinches, pigeons, and doves.
Instead, let’s offer a high-energy menu that’s both delicious and safe. Introducing… πͺ± MEALWORMS and π§ SUET! These two superfoods are what our garden guests are after.

π Mealworms: A standout substitute for the invertebrates birds naturally forage for. Soak them in water before serving β it makes them easier to digest!
ποΈ Suet: Packed with fats, itβs a favourite among long-tailed tits, thrushes, nuthatches, and woodpeckers. But heads up β skip suet with large seeds as these can attract finches.

Just a heads up, when it gets too toasty, suet can become messy and go rancid β so maybe hold off during a heatwave.
Get those yummy treats ready and watch your garden turn into a haven for birds! π¦π
