This festive season, I had the chance to visit one of Wales’ gems, Tredegar House, and it truly felt like walking through a living history book! With each room decked out to reflect different eras, it’s a nostalgic journey celebrating 500 Years of Christmas.
From the grandeur of Tudor banquets to the cosy charm of Victorian parlours and the vibrant vibes of the 1980s, each space tells a unique piece of history. For me, it was a trip down memory lane, evoking school trip memories from 15 years ago.
Tredegar House, a striking 17th-century mansion, has witnessed centuries of change, from grand aristocratic life to being a convent school. Its breathtaking architecture, gleaming gilt rooms, and intricate woodwork have stood the test of time, and now, they shine brighter than ever, adorned with holiday lights and decorations.
But it’s not just the interiors that captivate. The gardens have been transformed into a winter wonderland, glowing with thousands of lights that make evening strolls utterly enchanting. Even the on-site cafés join in on the festive cheer with seasonal treats.
