Extended Pub Hours to Kick Off Starting June 11 in Select Locations

Get ready for some late nights at your favourite pubs this summer! Thanks to Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood, pub hours are extending until 2am for certain nights during the World Cup, hosted in the US, Canada, and Mexico. This means when our home nations make it to the knockout stage, you won’t miss a single thrilling moment.

The extended hours kick off after June 11 and apply to late matches. Pubs can also apply for temporary licences for even later kick-offs due to the time difference. Cheers to extra time and another round while our national teams give it their all on the global stage!

Mahmood shares the same enthusiasm as fans, stating, “We don’t want pubs to blow the final whistle before the winning goal. We’re showing red tape the red card, taking pub hours to extra time, so you can get another round in without missing a single kick.”

Initially, there was a plan to extend hours only if a home nation advanced to the quarter-finals. But now, pubs will have the freedom to serve until 1am for most knockout matches and 2am for those starting at 10pm.

The British Beer and Pub Association celebrates this decision as a triumph for pubs, jobs, and community spirit. England and Scotland are already gearing up for the tournament kick-off on June 11, and there’s still hope for Wales or Northern Ireland to join them.

Get your mates together, grab your jerseys, and let’s cheer on our teams—all without the worry of last orders cutting the night short! 🍻⚽🏴‍☠️
