🚨 Dramatic Rescue at Welsh Beach 🚨

A massive overnight search operation was launched after a 34-year-old man went missing in the sand dunes at a beautiful Welsh beach. Early Monday morning, two brave lifeboat crews and dedicated Coastguard teams scoured the vast Ynyslas dunes, the largest in Ceredigion, to locate the missing visitor.

These dunes, reaching heights of up to 20 metres, sit south of Aberdyfi and are part of the stunning Dyfi National Nature Reserve. Despite being a lovely spot for walkers, the area holds hidden dangers, including unexpected flooding and remnants from WWII.

The alert was triggered at 12.20am, and almost immediately, the search began with teams from Borth and Aberystwyth dividing into smaller groups to comb the area. Lifeboat crews from Aberdyfi and Borth also joined the crucial search, covering the stretch from Borth to Ynyslas, even venturing into the Dyfi Estuary.
After nearly two hours of relentless searching, the missing man was found at 2.30am by the Coastguard team. He was cold and damp but thankfully safe and well. Kudos to the incredible rescue teams who quickly snapped into action! 👏
The teams returned to base just before 4am after ensuring everyone was safe, and the lifeboats stood down shortly before that, marking another mission accomplished for these local heroes.
Let’s take a moment to appreciate the lifeguards and coastguards who tirelessly work to keep our beaches safe. 🌊💙
Stay safe and always be cautious when exploring these beautiful landscapes!
