England’s World Cup Dream Shattered: FA Stands by Tuchel 🇬🇧⚽
Heartbreak for England as they miss out on their first World Cup final since 1966, losing to Argentina in a dramatic semi-final clash. With only minutes away from victory, defensive sub decisions by manager Thomas Tuchel saw the reigning champs snatch a 2-1 win, leaving fans and former players, like Wayne Rooney, questioning the tactics.
Despite the storm of criticism, the FA is firmly backing Tuchel. Their statement post-match highlighted the effort of the squad and the manager, reaffirming their faith in Tuchel as he looks towards Euro 2028, set to be hosted across the UK and Ireland.
Tuchel remains resolute, stating, “It’s just the nature of the game” as he takes on the critics. He insists the changes were strategic, meant to bolster a tired defence against Argentina’s relentless pressure.
As expected, Rooney had a different take, pointing out that England lost their edge after securing the lead. According to him, Tuchel’s gamble with the line-up allowed Argentina to dominate the match.
Captain Harry Kane remains optimistic, urging the squad to find that “missing piece” that could turn future tournaments into triumphs. The focus now shifts to England’s upcoming third-place playoff against France before setting sights on the home-ground Euros.
A tough loss, but the future is still bright for England with Tuchel at the helm. Your thoughts? ðŸ’✨ #England #WorldCup2026 #FA #Tuchel #KeepBelieving
