🌟 “Good Cancer”? It’s Still Terrifying! 🌟

Meet Emily Greenwood, a 21-year-old mum who thought her tiredness and weight loss were just part of the hustle and bustle of life with a toddler. Until she noticed a tiny pea-sized lump on her neck while driving to uni. 😲
At first, Emily chalked it up to her eczema. But when exhaustion hit hard—making her nearly snooze while playing with her daughter Harriet—and she dropped nearly a stone-and-a-half, she knew something was up. 🧐

In January, a hard lump on her chin convinced Emily it was time for a GP visit. Blood tests showed low iron and folate, but nothing wrong with her thyroid. Her GP suggested vitamins. Simple fix, right? Wrong.
An ultrasound revealed a suspicious lymph node and a thyroglossal cyst. After a biopsy, Emily heard the dreaded word: thyroid cancer. Despite being told it’s a ‘good’ cancer with high survival rates, it’s still a huge deal. 😟

Surgery in March removed the tumour and 25 lymph nodes. Next up, radioiodine treatment to ensure she’s ready to kick off her teaching career this September. 🎓✨
Emily’s message? Listen to your body. Push for a scan if you find a lump. Blood tests can miss things! Her experience shows that early checks are crucial, even if you’re told it’s probably nothing. 💪
Thyroid cancer may be rare, but awareness is power! Spread the word! 🗣️
