Heartbreaking Tragedy: Parents Held Responsible for Son’s Death in Dog Attack 🚨

A devastating story has unfolded involving the parents of three-year-old Daniel Twigg, who tragically lost his life after being mauled by a dog on a farm in Rochdale. Joanne Bedford and Mark Twigg were found guilty and imprisoned last year, accused of failing to prevent this horrific incident.
The Appeal Court recently upheld their convictions, revealing disturbing details. At the time, the couple was responsible for caring for 11 dogs, including aggressive breeds like the cane corso and American bulldog. Despite multiple warnings from social services and the RSPCA, they failed to secure the animals properly. The dogs had even bitten their older son previously.

On that fateful day in May 2022, little Daniel wandered into the pen where these dogs were kept. A cane corso named Sid inflicted fatal injuries before being shot by police.
The court highlighted that signs at the farm warned visitors of the danger. The judge stated, “It is the wrongdoing of you, Daniel’s parents, that has deprived him of his life.” The couple’s attempt to appeal the sentences was rejected as the tragedy was deemed entirely avoidable.
This serves as a stark reminder of the responsibilities that come with pet ownership, especially with potentially dangerous breeds. Our hearts go out to the family during this deeply challenging time while hoping for stricter measures to prevent such needless tragedies in the future. 🕊️💔
