‘Father shares heart-wrenching account of daughter’s immobility following traumatising accident’

A family in Crickhowell, Monmouthshire, faced a terrifying ordeal when young Nanci Harley, then just five, suffered a serious fall from her bed. Her mum, Nicola, remembers the heart-stopping moment vividly: “I heard a huge bang, and instant panic set in. Nanci was on the floor, screaming in agony and unable to move, with a massive lump on her head. It was horrific.”

Fearing a grave injury, the family called for an air ambulance. Nicola described the wait as feeling ‘physically sick’ with worry, fearing the worst for her daughter. Thankfully, doctors later confirmed it wasn’t a brain bleed; Nanci had severe bruising and a broken arm—a massive relief for the family.
