Despite a yellow weather warning for strong winds, hundreds of festive swimmers donned their Santa hats and wild costumes to take the plunge at Porthcawl beach this Christmas morning. With chilling winds making it feel close to freezing, these brave souls refused to let the weather dampen their holiday spirits!
The Met Office had warned of gusty east to north-easterly winds across Wales, with speeds reaching up to 65mph along some coasts. Yet, with sunny spells peeking through the clouds, the determined crowd made a splash in the chilly waters. 🌬️🌞
Covering 18 of the 22 council areas in Wales, the warning remained in effect from 4am until midnight, suggesting possible disruptions. But that didn’t stop these dedicated swimmers from keeping their annual tradition alive!
