💷 Big News on State Pensions! 💷

The money-saving guru Martin Lewis has revealed some crucial updates about State Pensions after his chat with the Chancellor, Rachel Reeves. Here’s the scoop:

1️⃣ The State Pension’s modest rise means it’s inching closer to the current tax threshold. The full new state pension is expected to increase to £12,547.60 annually from next April, which is a hair’s breadth from the tax limit.
2️⃣ Fears of tax returns? Not quite yet! During a discussion on Martin’s show, Rachel Reeves clarified that pensioners solely relying on State Pension won’t need to file a tax return. Phew!
3️⃣ But wait—what about other incomes? If you’ve got additional earnings, like a private pension, and your total income crosses the threshold, tax will still be due on amounts over the allowance.
4️⃣ So, no tax on just State Pension—for now. However, from 2027, the State Pension alone will likely surpass the tax-free amount, meaning pensioners might have to pay tax on it beyond this parliament.
