Swansea witnessed an adrenaline-pumping drama as Adam Hopkins, in his Mercedes, led police on a wild 90-minute chase. 🚗💨 This midnight escapade had everything from speeding through residential areas to defying gravity by going airborne over a roundabout!
The chase, which began in Cockett, saw Hopkins tearing through Penlan, Blaenymaes, and Portmead at 60mph. Even a stinger attempt at Morriston Hospital couldn’t stop him! Despite his tyres being punctured, Hopkins raced on, even ramming into police cars to escape. 🚓💥
The pursuit finally ended on the A4067 when Hopkins fled on foot but was caught shortly after. Shockingly, a roadside test showed cocaine in his system, and he was caught with snap-bags of the drug, cheekily claiming, “It’s not illegal to take coke, is it?” 😮
Hopkins, who skipped his court sentencing, was given 16 months behind bars and slapped with a driving ban for over four years. His actions injured officers and took multiple police vehicles out of service. The judge highlighted his blatant disregard for the law and public safety.
