🦈 Disturbing Sight on Welsh Coastline! 🌊

A shocking video has surfaced showing multiple dead sharks and rays along the Mumbles in South Wales. Captured by Swansea local John Rees, the footage reveals the devastating aftermath possibly linked to a recent fishing competition. John counted at least 15 dead bull huss (also known as dogfish) and rays, some with fishing gear still attached.

These scenes have raised serious concerns among locals about the impact of recreational fishing on marine life. Anglers are being urged to use appropriate tackle to minimise harm and avoid cutting lines, which can have dire consequences for marine creatures.

Despite this unsettling discovery, there’s also a moment of awe from Porthcawl. Angler Cameron Gigg caught a massive 11-pound bull huss off the pier, marking a personal best. He ensured the shark was carefully released back into the water, emphasising the need for responsible fishing practices.
Comments and videos of deceased bull huss at Knab Rock have sparked outrage online, prompting calls for more awareness and action to protect these magnificent creatures. Let’s spread the word and advocate for mindful fishing to preserve our marine ecosystem! 🌍💙
