Football icon Gary Lineker is back with a bang! After his legendary run as the host of Match of the Day on the BBC, Lineker is switching things up with a brand-new TV adventure. This September, he’ll be lighting up your screens with an exciting new game show on ITV, aptly named The Box.
Speaking candidly on LBC’s Full Disclosure, Gary couldn’t hide his excitement, admitting he’s thrilled to dive into something fresh and completely different. “It’s light-hearted and a lot of fun,” he shared. Looks like the former England striker is as enthusiastic as ever, even joking about being a “bloody pensioner.”
In this unique game show, celebrity contestants will find themselves whisked away to mysterious locations, each housed in yellow boxes, ready to face thrilling challenges once the doors open. With two players facing off each week in The Duel finale, it’s a competition full of surprises!
Since exiting the BBC, Lineker has kept busy with his podcast, The Rest Is Football, alongside Micah Richards and Alan Shearer. Not stopping there, his podcast company is also breaking new ground. Goalhanger has inked a deal with Netflix, promising a daily football show during this summer’s World Cup.
