Andrew Castle, once a tennis pro who played alongside Anne Hobbs in the 1987 Australian Open mixed doubles final, smoothly transitioned into broadcasting post-retirement. Notably, he also co-hosted ITV’s GMTV in the early 2000s and added some footwork flair in the 2008 series of Strictly Come Dancing.

But it’s not all been smooth sailing. Castle found himself in the midst of controversies over the years. In 2016, he was criticised for a remark about British player Marcus Willis’ girlfriend during a match. There were more hiccups in 2025 when he repeatedly misnamed US football star Trinity Rodman, referring to her as “Tiffany” during commentary. He later apologised for both gaffes, acknowledging audience feedback.

Reflecting on his exit from Wimbledon, Castle admitted mixed emotions. He shared with The Telegraph how reminiscent it felt of his unexpected departure from GMTV, though he also expressed gratitude for being informed respectfully by the BBC.

What’s next for Andrew Castle? He’s hinted at new career opportunities on the horizon and is optimistic about embracing fresh ventures. “All good things come to an end,” Castle mused, marking the close of an era.

Best of luck, Andrew! Wimbledon and the viewers will surely miss your voice. 🌟🎤
