A local Papa Johns franchise owner has been making headlines, and not for the right reasons. Sam Ransom, from Blaenau Gwent, has been found guilty of causing chaos at his ex-girlfriend’s family home in Bridgend. Over three consecutive weekends in January 2025, Ransom repeatedly snuck into the property, vandalising cars and property. His spree included ripping down house signs and throwing them into a nearby river, damaging the driveway lights, and even smashing the rear window of a Toyota Aygo with bricks.

Despite being found guilty on all counts, Ransom showed no remorse during his appearance at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court. The victims had sought over £4,000 in compensation for the damage incurred, but while the court refrained from ordering immediate compensation, they acknowledged civil proceedings might be on the horizon. Ransom was handed a 24-month community order, featuring rehabilitation activities, unpaid work, and restraining orders to protect the victims.

This isn’t Ransom’s first brush with controversy. Back in 2022, he made headlines for his treatment of a teenage employee, calling him a “loser” when the young worker requested a free pizza after a long shift.

When approached for comment on his recent conviction, Ransom brushed off requests with a dismissive message labelling the news as “fake.” For now, it seems South Wales has one less pizza aficionado to worry about. 🍕🏠🚔 #CrimeNews #Caerphilly #CourtUpdates
