New Zealand rugby player Cameron Suafoa, just 27, has bravely opened up about his battle with a rare form of terminal cancer. The diagnosis came after his wife noticed something unusual—a lump on his back. Initially detected as sarcoma in 2023, Suafoa had already undergone intensive treatments, including surgery and radiation, managing to continue playing rugby for a time despite the challenges.

Tragically, the cancer returned late last year and has since spread, leaving Cameron with a terminal diagnosis. Speaking on the What a Lad podcast, he shared the heartbreaking moment he was informed of his condition’s return and spread. Suafoa confessed feeling anger and disbelief, as he had been making plans for a rugby comeback.

Currently undergoing chemotherapy, Suafoa is determined to live life to the fullest despite the prognosis. He’s faced gruelling surgeries, including one where parts of his ribs and spine were removed, yet his spirit remains unyielded.
Suafoa’s journey is a reminder of life’s unpredictability and the strength in resilience. His goal now is to enjoy each day, cherishing moments with loved ones while advocating for awareness about rare cancers.
Let’s send Cameron and his family all the love and support as they navigate this challenging journey. 💪❤️ #StayStrongCameron #RugbyFamily
