From the office desk to the rugby pitch! 🏉 Last season, David Richards was selling tickets for the Dragons; this season, he’s helping them charge into the European semi-final against Montpellier! 🇫🇷🔥
David’s journey is nothing short of inspiring. After stepping back from professional play due to pesky injuries, he took on a commercial role with the Dragons. But his passion for the game never dimmed, and he kept sharpening his skills with Newport. Now, he’s back where he belongs, on the field and in peak form!
Fellow player Ashton Hewitt praises him: “It’s such a positive story. David’s perseverance and love for rugby are incredible. For anyone aspiring to reach professional rugby, his story shows that it’s possible!” 🙌
Despite his injuries and a snapped hamstring setting him back, David worked hard behind the scenes while making waves in Newport’s squad. Impressively, he was man of the match in the Premiership Cup final, leading Newport to victory.
Now with 15 appearances for the Dragons this season, David isn’t just a player; he’s a powerhouse! With four tries to his name, he’s ready to take on Montpellier, aiming to add more to his tally this Sunday.
Ashton adds, “You should see how he beats defenders—so athletic! He’s had some spectacular finishes this season.”
David’s story is proof that dreams come true with grit and determination. From chiselled forms to ticket forms, he’s come full circle!
Catch all the action as the Dragons battle it out with Montpellier this Sunday. Let this be a fairytale ending to an already incredible journey! 🌟
