BBC presenter Mark Chapman has had enough of the constant celeb-spotting during the World Cup broadcasts! He’s been upfront about his frustrations with the frequent cutaways to famous faces like David Beckham and Tom Cruise at the tournament in North America. Chapman, who’s been a key figure in the BBC’s coverage, just wants the focus to stay on the thrilling football action, not the stars in the stands.

Chapman expressed these feelings on a podcast, wondering why the cameras can’t resist a celebrity in the crowd. He even shared a laugh about recognising stars during live broadcasts, admitting sometimes he’s left clueless!

Despite the star-studded distractions, Chapman’s loving the on-field excitement. He praised the United States’ recent 4-1 victory over Paraguay, and also had high praise for the thrilling matches involving the Netherlands, Japan, Ecuador, and the Ivory Coast. Clearly, the footie’s been fantastic, even if the camera’s gaze sometimes strays.
