🚨 School Strikes Disrupt Education at Llantwit Major School 🚨

Tensions are running high at Llantwit Major School as teachers walk out, leaving students in the lurch right before GCSEs and A-levels! 🎓 Only Year 11 students attended classes on Thursday, while others, including sixth formers, were left to study from home. More strikes are scheduled, with some dates extending into September.

💬 A frustrated parent shared, “These children are already behind due to COVID, and now their education is being used as a bartering chip. It’s the children who lose out.”
At the heart of the issue is a dispute over workload, behaviour management, and reduced planning and assessment time (PPA) for teachers. Despite ongoing talks, no resolution has been reached.
Mark your calendars as more strike dates loom! The next walkout is set for Tuesday, April 28. The school promises efforts to minimise disruption, but with teaching ratios and safety in mind, school closures will happen for certain year groups.
👉 Let’s hope all parties come to an agreement soon for the sake of the students’ education and well-being. What are your thoughts? How should the school and teachers handle the situation? Let us know below! ⬇️
🗓️ Upcoming Strike Dates: May 6, June 17, July 2, July 15, July 16, September 3, and September 10.
