🚨 Big News for Sports Fans! 🚨
Mark Chapman is leaving the World Cup coverage early and heading over to The Open! 🎤🏆 While he’s been the familiar face on BBC with Gabby Logan, Kelly Cates, and Alex Scott this summer, Mark won’t be sticking around for the much-anticipated World Cup final. Instead, he’ll be switching gears to cover the esteemed golf tournament at Royal Birkdale. ⛳️
Despite being in Atlanta for England’s tough 2-1 semi-final defeat to Argentina, alongside Wayne Rooney, Joe Hart, and Micah Richards, Mark is set on his golfing duties. On his podcast with Gabby Logan, he shared, “I’ll be at the golf while enjoying the build-up to the final on the radio and catching snippets on telly.”
With Mark moving on, Gabby Logan will be taking the lead for BBC’s live coverage of the World Cup final, with the event also being showcased on ITV. Fans can look forward to Mark Pougatch likely spearheading ITV’s take on the final showdowns! 📺⚽️
In one of his last World Cup sessions, Mark had a laugh on-air, joking with Micah Richards about the legendary Gary Lineker. As they teased about stats and football greats, Mark cheekily quipped, “Gary, Gary who?”—a nod to the camaraderie and banter these football panels are known for.
Stay tuned for more exciting sports updates as we gear up for both The Open and the World Cup finale! 🚀📻
