🌿🐾 Beware Garden Lovers with Pets! 🐾🌿

If your furry friend loves digging into the garden or snacking on garden bits, you might want to keep an eye out! BBC vet expert, Dr James Greenwood, has shed light on a potential risk lurking in our gardens that could be harmful to our pets.

During a chat on BBC Morning Live, Dr Greenwood shared that certain common plants found in UK gardens are actually toxic to dogs. He pointed out that while some dogs are just playing, if they’re munching on specific plants, it might not end well.

Here’s a quick list of plants to watch out for:
– 🌼 Daffodils
– 🌷 Tulips
– 🔔 Bluebells
– 🌺 Foxglove
– 🌸 Azaleas and rhododendrons
These beauties can cause everything from tummy trouble to serious health issues in pets. Even a lick of pollen can be risky! So, it’s best to know what’s growing in your patch.
But don’t fret if your pooch loves a bit of digging. Dr Greenwood suggests giving them their own sandbox with toys buried to satisfy their digging instincts without harming your plants.
Remember, if your dog is showing signs like vomiting, diarrhoea, or just seems off, it might be time for a vet visit. Better safe than sorry!
Let’s keep our gardens pet-friendly and safe. Share this post with fellow pet owners to spread the word! 🐶🌱
