⛳ Tommy Fleetwood had a rollercoaster of emotions at The Open Championship! The Southport star came oh-so-close, finishing T4 at his local Royal Birkdale course. While his £615,000 prize money would make anyone’s head spin, the taxman is making sure Tommy doesn’t take all that home. Unfortunately for Fleetwood, he’s looking at almost half of it going straight into taxes!

Fleetwood continues his chase for that elusive major title, adding another narrow miss to his record. With past runner-up finishes at the 2018 US Open and The Open in 2019, Sunday was another heartbreaker as New Zealand’s Ryan Fox clinched the win with a record-tying 62 on Saturday. 🏆

Fleetwood’s perseverance is admirable, and his spirits remain high thanks to the electric crowd. Describing the atmosphere as a dream come true, he expressed gratitude for the incredible fan support that made his week special. Despite losing a hefty piece of his earnings, Tommy’s determined pursuit of golf glory is far from over!
The tax expert, Nicole Zalys, detailed that Fleetwood’s take-home after deductions is about £327,021. Still a handsome sum, but losing nearly £290k to taxes is a hard pill to swallow. 😬
In other news, Fox’s stellar performance earned him a cool £2.4m, while second-place finisher Cameron Young took home £1.3m. As Fleetwood continues to work towards his major win, his supporters remain by his side. Onwards and upwards, Tommy! 💪
