ππ¨ Handcuffed Grandad Makes Daring Escape! π¨π

In a scene straight out of a movie, convicted armed robber and grandfather-of-five, John Robinson, pulled a jaw-dropping stunt in Cwmbran. The 48-year-old was initially spotted acting suspiciously at a petrol station, where officers discovered a firearm in his Mitsubishi SUV. But things took a wild turn when, despite being handcuffed in the driverβs seat, Robinson told officers, “I’m disabled,” before grabbing the wheel and speeding off with the car doors and boot wide open!

π₯ Caught on camera, the dramatic escape saw one officer getting struck by a car door as Robinson drove off. Thankfully, he didn’t get far and was arrested shortly after. Turns out, the “firearm” in question was a “dysfunctional” pistol.

ποΈ During his court appearance, Robinson, hailing from Charlton, London, admitted to dangerous driving, driving while disqualified, and possessing an imitation firearm. He’s no stranger to the law, with 37 convictions for 98 offences, including a 10-year sentence back in 2013 for robbery and firearms crimes.
π«π Now, with a 12-month jail sentence and a 3-year driving ban, Robinson will need to clear an extended driving retest before hitting the road again. Talk about a grand escape with grand consequences!
